European Tourism Study: More focus on environment, culture and innovation

Unfortunately, the tourism world is not blooming as before at the moment. According to the tourism organization UNWTO, demand has collapsed by 51 %.

But crises always create new opportunities. The classic tourism model could be rethought and adapted so that tourism is also possible during a pandemic.

Currently, the tourism industry is focused on economic growth, but not so much on sustainability or society.

If we change this and spread the Overtourism across all cities and countries, there would be fewer people in a pile and every city/region would be able to do tourism.

The European Tourism Study concludes that due to the Corona pandemic, European regions and cities are called upon to respond with innovative and sustainable solutions without endangering people and the environment.
